Shirley Mae Bryer, 90, of Riverside, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her residence. She was born May 2, 1935, in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late John and Rea F. Murphy Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Marlin Bryer, in 2006.

Shirley was a devoted wife and homemaker.

She was a member of the Danville Moose Lodge #1133 where she enjoyed spending time with all of her friends.

Shirley found great joy in cooking and baking for her family. Her love for flower gardening and vegetable gardening brought beauty to her surroundings and resulted in a delicious abundance of canned fruits and vegetables that she lovingly prepared and shared with family and friends. The greatest love of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Shirley’s light will continue to shine in our hearts, through the sweet memories of laughter, love, and the simple joys she shared with all of us

She is survived by one son: John Anthony Vezo of Riverside, PA, two daughters: Linda Zehner of Danville, PA, and Barbara Bird and her husband Daniel of Fredericksburg, VA. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. One half brother, Donald Johns, of Danville, PA also survives.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marlene Bryer on July 28, 1980, two brothers: Steve and Robert Lewis and two sisters: Peg McHenry and Ann Walters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Shirley’s Life to be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with Linda L. Wagner as celebrant. Friends will be received from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Burial will be held in St. Paul’s (Straub’s) Lutheran Cemetery, Danville.
