Obituary For Stanley Lee Wise

Stanley Lee Wise, 84, of Milton, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, PA. He was born on September 8, 1939, in Mill Hall, PA, the son of the late Earl and Ida Mae Wise.

He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps.

Stanley was formerly married to the late Bernice Bryerton who preceded him in death on January 30, 2021.

He was married to the love of his life for 54 years, the Late Sherry E. Wise. They were married on May 6, 1967.

Stanley was employed by TRW from where he retired. After retiring, he went into full time ministry serving as a Reverend at New Life Tabernacle in Bloomsburg, PA.

He was a member of Victory Life Church, Danville, PA.

Stanley had a zest for life and had a great sense of humor. He loved sharing God’s word with everyone. Stanley enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling and was an avid cornhole player. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters; Valerie A. Wise-Strayer and Lisa M. Wise-Santiago and her husband Angel; both of Milton, PA, and one son; Stephen J. Wise and his wife Elizabeth of Milton, PA. Stanley is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rachael Kellett, Michelle Strayer, Melissa Strayer, Alexander Santiago, Gabrielle Johnston, Adisyn Wise, Felicity Wise, and Kyleigh Wilson as well as six great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Lydia, Charity, Kyla, Malaki, Everett and one on the way. He is also survived by two sisters; Esther “Pat” Rudy and her husband Richard of Danville, PA, and Karen Strait of Georgia as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by one daughter; Darlene Wise and one son; David Wise as well as six brothers; Benjamin Wise, Donald Wise, Francis Wise, Richard Wise, William Wise, and Charles Wise

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Stanley’s Life to be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Victory Life Church, 1925 Sunbury Road, Danville, PA 17821 with Pastor Aaron Wright officiating. Friends will be received from 4:00 PM to 5:45PM. Military rites will be accorded by Danville American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.

    Stan was a good man. I always thought a lot of Stan. Loved playing horse shoes with him and corn hole. Gonna miss Stan.

    He was the glue that held our winterhaven family together. I loved him and sherry, I can't tell you the fun we had. Rest in peace, love you stan.
