Obituary For Stephen Grant Miller

Stephen Grant Miller, 77, of Danville PA entered the eternal presence of the Lord at home on July 8, 2023. He was born April 22, 1946, in Orange NJ, the son of the late Gordon Grant and Lorena May Fuller-Miller, a graduate of Bloomfield High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

His country called him to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a Combat Infantryman Badge for active engagement in ground combat with the enemy.

For over 20 years, Steve was employed in various technical and quality control positions at Warner Lambert Pharmaceuticals. He finished his career with Warner Lambert as a computer systems analyst before leaving to start a private consulting firm.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bloomfield NJ for 64 years, where he energetically and selflessly served the Lord in every facet of church operations, met his future wife, raised two children, and mentored countless souls in the furtherance of Christ's Kingdom. After moving to Pennsylvania, he continued his faithful service at First Baptist Danville. Though Steve did many good works, he placed his hope for eternal life in Jesus Christ. From childhood, his life was shaped by his faith and passed on his servant heart to his family and friends.

When he wasn't at church or with family, he enjoyed cycling, hiking, and kayaking. He was an avid reader. Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Patricia Cavanaugh-Miller. Additionally, he is survived by his son, Daniel J. Miller and daughter, Christine L. DeSomma and her husband Joseph, and his brother James G. Miller. Steve has three grandchildren, Taisie, Collins and Liliana, and was expecting a fourth grandchild in the fall.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Steve’s Life to be held on Monday, July 17 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Danville PA 12 Brookside Drive Danville PA with his pastor, the Reverend Dawes Dunham officiating and assistance provided by Reverend Jimmie Van Sant and Reverend James Miller. Friends will be received from 10am until the time of service.
