Steven Earl Reinaker, 71, of Danville, PA, unexpectedly left us on Friday, May 29, 2026, in Danville. He was born on June 27, 1954, in Danville, the son of the late Earl and Betty (Krum) Reinaker.

Steve graduated from Columbia Montour Vo-Tech and went on to serve in various trades throughout his life including many years at TRW in Danville, until he retired from the Pennsylvania State Department of Corrections in 2021.

On June 4, 1983, Steve married his devoted wife, Linda (Ross), and would have soon celebrated 43 years of marriage together.

Together, Steve and Linda shared their life with their two children, Josh, and Aimee, both of which Steve was incredibly proud of and loved dearly.

While Steve loved his wife and children with all his heart, there was no one who brought joy to his life like his grandchildren. Steve lived for the moments of spending time with them. Whether it was outside on the swing, sitting by a campfire in Elk Country, or adventures in the woods in a deer stand, turkey blind, or on the side-by-side, Steve cherished every moment.

Steve’s favorite past time, known by all, was hunting. From October to December, Steve was more than likely found in a tree stand, and then come spring, he was chasing gobblers in the hollow. From Wyoming to New Mexico, Newfoundland, Canada, and beyond, Steve’s hunting and fishing adventures often included his brothers, Craig and Mark, and more recently, his son Josh. Hunting was Steve’s way of providing for his family and enjoyed the many wild game meals that Linda would so lovingly prepare.

If Steve wasn’t in the woods or in the garden, he could be found on a summer afternoon on his front porch, just sitting and watching across the valley… his favorite place to be.

In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his children, Josh and his wife Kristi, of Danville, and Aimee Bower of Palmyra, and five grandchildren, Branlin, Colt, Makenzie, Landon, and Christian. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Shirley Ross, his two brothers, Craig and Mark (Cheri), his sister-in-law, Janet Ashenfelder (Kevin), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Ross, and son-in-law, Chris Bower.

Honoring Steve’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at East End Fire Company Social Hall 954 Bloom Road Danville, PA beginning at 5 p.m.
