Obituaries

Susan M. (Schuetz) Carey, 81, Danville, PA passed away peacefully Thursday evening,
January 16, 2025, at Emmanuel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville, PA. She
was born on July 1, 1943, in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Paul Robert and
Margaret Estelle (Forrest) Schuetz.

She graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, NJ in 1961. After
high school, she was employed for five years as a switchboard operator for Western
Electric in Union, NJ. She later married in November of 1966. More than a housewife
and a mother, she was also a Little League coach and participated in softball and bowling
leagues when her children were younger. Some of her interests included knitting, needlepoint and Boyd’s Bears / owl figurine collecting.

Susan’s husband, Robert Earl Carey, passed away in 2010. She is survived by two sons;
Scott M. Carey of Northumberland, PA and Gregory A. Carey of Danville, PA. In
addition, she is also survived by a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Carey and a grandson,
Kristopher Carey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Susan’s Life to be held on
Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Grove Presbyterian Church with the Reverend
Robert J. Andrews officiating. Friends will be received from 1:00pm to 1:45pm. Burial
will be private in the Grove Presbyterian Memorial Garden.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
