Obituary For Tina M. Alexander
Tina Mae Alexander, 63, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was Born October 25,1962, in Bloomsburg, Pa, the daughter of the late John and Alice Erlston.
Tina graduated from Danville Area High School in 1980. She then went on to graduate from Robert Packer Nursing School in Sayre, Pa in 1983.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Anthony Alexander, who passed away September 8, 2025. They married June 11, 1983, and spent 42 years building a beautiful life together. Losing him was a profound loss, and a part of her heart went with him. Their life together was a cherished part of her story, and her family finds comfort in believing that their love did not end with death. Tina held firmly to her faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and treasured the Bible’s promise of a future without suffering or death. That hope gave her comfort and allowed her to look beyond the pain of this life toward the day she would see her beloved husband again.
Tina has spent 43 years as a registered nurse, delivering patient care across multiple hospital systems. Over the course of her career, she has worked in diverse clinical settings, but in her most recent role, she has dedicated the past 12 years to Davita Dialysis. Tina was responsible for training patients and their families to perform dialysis at home, giving patients greater independence and flexibility in their treatment schedules. Tina was gifted with the incredible ability to instill confidence in people and dedicated herself to the success of each and every one of her patients. During her time at Davita, Tina received numerous awards recognizing the exceptional care she provided, and most recently she was honored in 2025 with the Carol Mattix Award from The National Kidney Foundation, along with the Avanti Home Nurse Award from Davita Dialysis. Tina will be desperately missed by her colleagues and patients.
Besides working Tina loved being outside gardening and relaxing at the beach in the sun. Most of all, Tina loved spending time with her family and more importantly her grandchildren who called her “Nonnie”. To them, she was not simply Nonnie, but someone they could turn to, someone who loved them unconditionally, and someone whose presence made them feel at home. The memories they made with her will become stories they carry with them throughout their lives.
Her absence will be felt in the quiet moments, in the conversations that can no longer be had, the family gatherings where her and John’s chairs will both be empty, the birthdays and holidays she should be there to celebrate, and all the ordinary days when someone will wish they could simply pick up the phone and hear her voice.
Tina is survived by her three sons: Jason M. Alexander and his wife Stephanie of Danville; Darrell J. Alexander And his wife Deborah of Danville; And Kyle O. Alexander and his Fiancé Amanda of Allentown. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Ryleigh, Harper, Finley, Dalton, Lincoln, Oliver, And Camden. Lastly, Tina is survived by her brother John Erlston and sister Susan Erlston, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister Peggy VanKirk.
Tina will be deeply missed, endlessly loved and forever remembered.
Until We Meet Again.
