Obituaries

Vera C. Lucas, 91, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Vintage Knolls in Danville, PA. She was born on March 17, 1933, in Aristes, PA, the daughter of John and Melissa (Lindemuth) Hoffman.

Vera graduated from Conyngham-Centralia High School of Aristes, PA.

She was married to her devoted husband for 65 years, the late LeRoy E. Lucas. They were married on June 20, 1953.

Vera was employed for 20 years in Classified Billing at the Danville News. She thoroughly enjoyed working in their family business, the Service Printery.

She was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Bloomsburg, PA where she served as a Sunday School teacher and in the Women in Missions.

Vera exemplified grace and diligence in all aspects of her life. Her love for cleanliness and nurturing her home, both inside and out, reflected her unwavering dedication to creating a warm and welcoming environment for her loved ones. Vera's true joy came from her family. She found solace and happiness in spending quality time with her loved ones.

She is survived by one son: LeRoy A. Lucas of Danville, PA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Vera was preceded in death by three brothers; Clair, Vincent, and Wayne and three sisters; Ruth, Faye and Jean.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Elan Memorial Park, 5595 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg, PA at 11:00am with Pastor Steve Hummel officiating.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 260 East 7th Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
