Obituary For Vera Josephine Stine

Vera Josephine Stine, 93, of Riverside, PA, passed away on January 22, 2025, at Nottingham Village in Northumberland, PA. She was born June 4, 1931, in Danville PA, the daughter of the late Marvin and Mabel Shutt Lormor.

Vera graduated from Danville High School in 1950.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Robert L. Stine who passed away June 25, 2020. They were married June 5, 1953.

Vera enjoyed being a homemaker and later worked as a cafeteria worker for Danville Area School District, from where she retired.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Riverside, PA.

One of Vera’s greatest joys was camping with her husband. She also enjoyed Word Search, cross stitch, and embroidery.

Vera will be remembered for her sense of humor and her love to have lunch with her daughter at Taco Bell. The love of her family was so important to her, and she adored all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter.

She is survived by one son, Robert L. Stine, Jr., and his wife Debra Baylor-Stine and one daughter, Roberta L. Marks and her fiancé Joseph Wands: all of Riverside, PA.

Also surviving are three grandchildren: Larue, Becky and Kyle; six great-grandchildren: Piper, Ayla, Dylan, Morgan, Madyson and Larue and one great-great-granddaughter, Ava. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Herring on September 28, 2023, and two brothers and four sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Vera’s Life to be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with Lee Crossley, a devoted family member, officiating. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM.

Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg, PA.
