Jack Leroy Gross, Sr., 91, of Danville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday November 16, 2023, at his residence. He was born September 12, 1932, in Danville, PA; the son of the late Joseph Gross, Sr. and Anna Werkheiser Gross.

Jack graduated from Danville Area School in 1950

He was married to his loving and devoted wife for 69 years; Bernice Helen Klein Gross. They were married on September 4, 1954, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Danville PA

In his younger years, he enjoyed farming, working for McCarty Electric in Danville and for PennDOT. Jack was employed for 40 years by TRW and Textron; both of Danville from where he retired in 1991.

He was a member of the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, PA and the Knights of Columbus.

Jack’s faith and his family were the foundation of his life. He will be remembered for his hardworking ethic throughout his life and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by two sons; Willliam J. Gross and his wife Ann of Danville and Jack L. Gross, Jr. and his wife Marie of Winfield PA and two daughters; Mary Ann Davis and Lee Ann Pegg and her husband Robert, Sr., both of Danville. Jack is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; Joseph Gross of Buckhorn, PA and Henry Gross and his wife Teresa of Bloomsburg, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; Pauline Fox.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, 599 West Center Street, Elysburg, PA 17824 with Father Joseph T. Scanlin as Celebrant and Father Al Sceski as co-Celebrant. Friends will be received from 09:30am to 10:45am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery Danville PA.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA 17821.
